    Starting reception school

    If you would like your child to attend our school, please see full details of our admission arrangements below.

    Catalyst Aveley Primary is responsible for the Admission Policy for all children in the area to enter full-time education.

    For admission to the reception year 2027/2028 applications may be made from 1st November 2026.  Applications must be received by the Local Education Authority by 15th January 2027. This applies to all children born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023. For further details, see Thurrock Council's page here.

    We have the following dates available for prospective families to visit:
    - Thursday 5th November from 10:00-11:00
    - Thursday 12th November from 10-11:00

    Admission Appeals

    If you have not been offered a place at Aveley Primary School, you can appeal the decision to an independent appeals panel which is completely independent to the school and the Local Authority. 

    If you wish to appeal for a place in Reception, year 1 or year 2, please use this link to complete your appeal online. 

    If you wish to appeal a place for a place in years 3 - 6, please use this link to complete your appeal online. 

    Please do NOT use any other appeal form or send your form to your local authority. It is suggested that you download the explanatory booklet about appeals which you should read before you complete the appeal form.

    Last day for lodging appeals forms for a place in Reception to start in September 2026 is 12 noon on Wednesday 20th May 2026 to guarantee that your appeal will be heard in the first round of appeals. 

    Appeals lodged after this date may not be heard until the second round which could be in September 2026. 

    You will receive an invitation letter giving details about your hearing at least 10 school days before your hearing.
