This half-term in the ARC, we have been looking at the 'Gruffalo' and 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt'. We have been looking at what we would need to take with us if we were going exploring. We did a sensory walk through the various weather conditions. In maths, we looked at addition and subtraction, using our toys in the room to help us to subtract or add together. We also made our own Gruffalo food! We used brown bread and different vegetables.
This term, the ARC have been looking at people that help us and we have been reading a book all about being a superhero like doctors or teachers. In maths, we have been looking at 3D shapes and patterns. We have also been taking part in music Mondays where we have been playing along to songs using our body parts as instruments. We have even baked our own bread rolls when we were learning about the little red hen!
What an amazing start we have had for our Autumn term in the ARC!
Our topics have been All About Me and Autumn. All the children have settled well and have enjoyed exploring all of our activities. We have learnt lots of Makaton signs, words, numbers and joyful songs. The children have adored our reading sessions, especially The Little Red Hen where they have used puppets and small world characters to retell the story.
We are looking forward to our next topics and an exciting term ahead.
